Year 2 maths: what your child learns
Year 2 children learn the value of tens and ones in numbers to 100, add and subtract two-digit numbers, and know the 2, 5 and 10 times tables. They also work with thirds and quarters, measure in centimetres, grams and litres, give change in pounds and pence, and tell the time to five minutes. Alongside these come the properties of shapes, tally charts and pictograms.
