Year 3 maths: what your child learns
In Year 3 children work with three-digit numbers, add and subtract them using column methods, and learn the 3, 4 and 8 times tables. Fractions grow to include tenths, equivalent fractions and adding fractions with the same denominator, while measures bring perimeter, millimetres and telling the time to the nearest minute. Right angles, parallel lines and bar charts are also covered.
